movements to shift
the tracks of history

VISION

We find ourselves at a critical juncture in time. We need to have a vision of the kingdom that is big and dynamic enough to shift the tracks of history. To do this we need to understand and apply movement thinking at every level.

Movements have historically changed the world because they hold a transformative energy and have catalytic impact. They impact and influence society on every level, initiating social, spiritual and systemic change, and spark imagination and innovation. In the last 1,000 years, our model of church hasn’t delivered world transformation.

The body of Christ is designed to grow, heal and extend. We’re called to be dynamic, disruptive, innovative and creative. At points along the way, this paradigm and practice has been forgotten. Movement thinking helps us return to our original design and to exist as a Jesus movement across the globe.

Alan and Debra Hirsch, Rich Robinson, and the MLC team believe recovering movemental dynamics is one of the keys for the moment we find ourselves in, and that we have to rediscover how to do this together.

The Movement Leaders Collective provides a catalyst for movement leadership and a community for movement leaders across gender, geography, race & ethnicity.

We want to move away from the solo, heroic model of leadership and break the patterns of isolation, consumerism, competition and celebrity. The Collective enables leaders to meaningfully engage with one another and to experience the collegiality of other pioneers and fellow travellers. It creates an environment and opportunity to strengthen and deepen relational, collaborative and trust-based friendships that foster radical innovation, partnership and collaboration.

Movement leaders are spiritually and strategically sharpened by being among other dynamic leaders who share insights, experiences, innovations and learning, particularly focusing on overcoming key movement blockers and helping leaders hone their movement vision, purpose and strategy.

The mission of MLC is to identify, train, and empower 100 Jesus-movements & 1,000 Christlike leaders using the mDNA framework to become dynamic, innovative and generative movements able to shift the tracks of history

The Movement Leaders Collective is made up of a leaders collective, hybrid publisher, and training ecosystem

Values

REJESUS
Christlike

We value humble, servant-hearted, leaders who seek to learn and serve, not to win or compete. Leaders who are guides, not heroes – seeking the mind of Christ to lead a Jesus-movement.

SCENIUS
Collaborative

We value an openness to others, looking for new truth/ideas. Individuals who are fellow learners, not experts – playing a part in the mosaic of Scenius, not painting a masterpiece on their own.

MOVEMENTAL
Catalytic

We value innovative, creative, and daring individuals, who are practitioners or thought leaders. People who explore and pursue new frontiers and seek change – seeking to spark and sustain movement dynamics.

In every seed is the potential for a tree, and in every tree is the potential for a forest. but the potential is all contained in the initial seed.

THE GENIUS IS NOT IN THE ROOM.

THE GENIUS IS THE ROOM.

Scenius refers to the intelligence and the intuition of a cultural scene or a community of people. In other words, it is the communal form of the concept of the genius

We want to activate the Spirit-empowered scenius in key movement leaders across the world.

Our scenius environments are:

A space of revelation and retreat,
for meeting with God.

Come to be refreshed, inspired and restored. The scenius environment combines deep laughter, intense discussion, and reflective prayer to help us as leaders to breathe again, allowing us to tend to our hearts and stretch our minds. As movement leaders, we can enjoy the freedom of being in a space where we are not ‘in charge’ or ‘carrying the can’ of responsibility.

A place of connection and peer learning,
for making friends.

Stand shoulder-to-shoulder, heart-to-heart and mind-to-mind with others, as comrades, not competitors. The scenius environment helps break the patterns of isolation and loneliness so often associated with leadership and instead creates a relational network that provides support, accountability, and prayer, in which we seek the best for one another. As we spend time together, companionship, comradeship, and collaboration is birthed and continues to develop over the long haul.

A place of creativity and innovation,
for movement leadership.

Align hearts and minds with God’s purposes and one another and create Kingdom synergy. The scenius environment enables us to dream and design new kingdom initiatives, explore where we can serve each other or be stronger together in partnership, co-creating the future. It offers a safe space to explore new, untried, daring ideas, initiatives, and innovations, whether expressed through resources, books, strategies, alliances, or ministries.
